Connect A/B Simulate to your AI assistant.

A/B Simulate works inside Claude and ChatGPT as a connector. Add it once, approve it, then ask your assistant to simulate an A/B test between a few drafts.

Connect an assistant

Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop connectors, mobile)Connects from Anthropic's servers

This connects from Anthropic's servers, not your computer. Once added, A/B Simulate works in claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps.

  1. In claude.ai, go to Customize → Connectors (claude.ai/customize/connectors), choose +, then Add custom connector. Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan.
  2. Name it A/B Simulate and give it the remote MCP server URL. Leave Advanced settings empty: A/B Simulate registers the client itself.
    https://absimulate.jacquard.com/mcp
  3. Add it, then choose Connect. Your browser opens A/B Simulate: sign in, check the approval names Claude, then approve the connection.
  4. In a chat, make sure A/B Simulate is switched on in the connectors menu, then try an example below.

ChatGPTConnects from OpenAI's servers

This connects from OpenAI's servers, not your computer.

  1. Turn on developer mode: Settings → Security and login → Developer mode. Whether you can depends on your plan and workspace policy.
  2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, choose +, and enter a name (A/B Simulate) and a description.
  3. Under Connection, enter the MCP server URL, including its /mcp path:
    https://absimulate.jacquard.com/mcp
  4. Create it, then sign in to A/B Simulate and approve the connection.

Claude Desktop, through the mcp-remote bridgeConnects from your computer

The bridge runs on your computer.

  1. You need Node.js 18 or later (check with node --version). The bridge, mcp-remote, is a third-party npm package that npx downloads and runs on your computer.
  2. In Claude Desktop, open the Claude menu in your system's menu bar, then Settings… → Developer → Edit Config. That opens claude_desktop_config.json: on a Mac ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json, on Windows %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json.
  3. Add A/B Simulate under mcpServers, keeping any servers already there:
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "ab-simulate": {
          "command": "npx",
          "args": [
            "-y",
            "mcp-remote",
            "https://absimulate.jacquard.com/mcp"
          ]
        }
      }
    }
  4. Quit Claude Desktop completely and reopen it. Your browser opens A/B Simulate: sign in, then approve the connection.
  5. A/B Simulate's three tools then show under Add files, connectors, and more → Connectors. If they don't, Claude Desktop's MCP logs are in ~/Library/Logs/Claude/mcp*.log (Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\logs).

Claude CodeConnects from your computer

Claude Code connects from your computer.

  1. In a terminal, add A/B Simulate:
    claude mcp add --transport http ab-simulate https://absimulate.jacquard.com/mcp
  2. Start Claude Code and run /mcp. Choose ab-simulate, then Authenticate. Your browser opens A/B Simulate.
  3. Sign in (the email link works once, for 15 minutes), then approve the connection (below).
  4. Back in Claude Code, /mcp shows ab-simulate as connected, with three tools.
  5. To remove it later:
    claude mcp remove ab-simulate

After you sign in, A/B Simulate asks you to approve the connection: which workspace it can use, which brand it simulates for, and that each A/B simulation spends one of the workspace's credits.

Claude and ChatGPT are named on the consent screen; an assistant A/B Simulate can't identify shows as "Unverified app", with the address the connection returns to. Approve only a connection you started yourself.

Deny, and the assistant is told you refused. Approve, and it can use the tools straight away.

What your assistant can do

Simulate an A/B test check_lines

Simulates an A/B test between variants of marketing copy (subject lines, preheaders, SMS, push, ad and web headlines, social posts) with A/B Simulate's Neural 2.1 model, and predicts the winner. Send 2 to 20 variants for one channel, with the user's current or default copy first: that's the control. Returns every variant's predicted rank and its predicted lift vs the control, in clicks (opens for push; SMS gets the order only). One call is one simulation and uses 1 credit from the connected A/B Simulate workspace, however many variants it has. Results are predictions, not certainties.

Try “Use A/B Simulate to simulate an A/B test of these email subject lines, with my current one first as the control: "Your coat's been waiting", "Last chance: 20% off coats" and "We saved your basket".”

Share results share_results

After a send, shares how each variant performed with A/B Simulate: total sent and clicks, plus opens and revenue if known. Get the numbers from the user's email platform or ad account. Free, uses no credits. A/B Simulate shows the aggregate results next to what it predicted for each variant. Do not send subscriber lists, recipient identifiers or individual events.

Try “Share this with A/B Simulate: "Last chance: 20% off coats" went to 12,000 people and got 540 clicks.”

Credits left get_credits

Shows how many A/B Simulate credits the connected workspace has left this month and when they reset. One A/B simulation (2 to 20 variants) uses 1 credit.

Try “How many A/B Simulate credits do I have left this month?”

Troubleshooting

The assistant says it isn't authorised, or A/B Simulate says "Connect A/B Simulate to get a token"
Connect again (in Claude Code: /mcp, then Authenticate; in claude.ai and ChatGPT: the connector's Connect button). A connection you disconnected doesn't come back by itself.
"This connection link doesn't work"
Start again from the assistant. A connection page can't be reused or opened from a copied link.
Not enough credits
Ask the assistant to run get_credits, then add credits or change plan in Billing & plan.
Revoking a connection
Connected AIs → Disconnect. Access stops at once, and connecting again needs a new approval. Disconnect covers every connection shown under that name: Claude Code and the Desktop bridge both appear as "Unverified app (localhost)", so they go together. In Claude Code you can also run: claude mcp remove ab-simulate (or claude mcp remove topline, for a connection added before the rename).

Once you're signed in, see and disconnect your connections in Connected AIs.
